Merchants Go Green (MGG) loved our MapIt concept. Indeed they knew they needed to implement it on their recently launched Business to Business networking site. Their dilemma with implementing MapIt straight away was as follows: In the company’s early days of building a national Business to Business network, MGG didn’t want the MapIt program to reveal their limited number of early-to-adopt national vendors buying and selling services via their web site. BUT, they really wanted to be able to offer it when they felt they had enough of these vendors on their program.
Not knowing whether that timeline might be 6 months, 12 month or 18 months down the road, our solution was relatively simple … we created a “temporary” front-end interface which wouldn’t showcase their directory using a map. However, MapIt would run in the “background” and thus this “hidden” version of their MapIt program would be ready to launch at a moment’s notice, replacing the existing interface we’re presently developing for them.
